The following Weblink leads to the sample research paper on current state interoperability efforts nationally that was created during the information-gathering phase of the Virginia interoperability strategic planning process. The purpose of the research paper is to provide examples of individual states’ planning efforts complemented by a brief analysis of how some of these efforts have been successful and fit within SAFECOM principles. By taking this approach, one might gain a sense of the broad, strategic perspective called for when initiating interoperable communication planning efforts at the local and state levels.
