On August 1, CID published the summer 2009 edition of Interoperability Technology Today. The attached copy features a front-page spotlight on the Georgia Interoperability Network—an innovative public safety answering point at 9-1-1 dispatch centers that can patch calls across all frequencies and devices used by participating law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical service agencies in the State. The summer edition also features a Virtual USA-focused Director’s Message highlighting the purpose and outlook for the initiative. This publication includes other articles reporting on the first set of laboratories approved to test Project 25 (P25) radio equipment and Global Positioning System technology enabling real-time tracking for key law enforcement decision makers.
